Surfs up!

The summer is here and you are afraid that you will not be able to surf as much as you do the rest of the year? Well, not from this summer and on, the area of Oslo, called Grünerløkka is getting wifi in the parks!

The wifi service will start June 11th and will for two months be for free. After the two months test period, there will be a 10 MB download limit. After that each 20 MB will cost you 10 NOK. Until now Telenor has only provided these services for Aker Brygge (the harbor area of Oslo) and gasoline stations.

I don’t know what registration system that will be used, but I can only hope that it is LEAP or PEAP, at least it’s then a small possibility of being able to use it with other operating systems then Windows ( I am thinking of Linux and MacOS X).

I can stand the thought of having the laptop next to the one-time bbq grill, surfing till the sausages get ready!
