The last couple of days I have searching shops for a suitable laptop bag. I wanted something great looking, and not just something black. Why? I am getting a MacBook Pro soon. The ordered is placed at the local dealer, so hopefully in about 10 days blog entries and more will be written on that machine.

When I was out searching for the bad, I soon discovered the Cumpler bags. Their laptop bags have names like Very Busy Man, Baby Scarer, Company Embarrasment and MacBains Lovechild. My first thought seeing the bags, was that this Australian company was driven by the slogan “Think Different!”. As I come from the BeOS world, I basically grew up with another slogan: “Don’t just think different, be different!”. I had to have one of these bags, but they were just to damn expensive. I first went to Officeline and then to Eplehuset, and was about to give up on these bags. I was simply not willing to pay that much. But it turned out that Foto Knudsen was having a sale on them.

I ended up with a MacBains Lovechild 15 (large) bag, and here’s a picture:

Today, before I started writing this blog entry, I visited their web pages. It turns out that all Crumpler products have been made with the so called CHICKEN TEX nylon. So what is exactly CHICKEN TEX? I have no clue, other then it must among other things be a good sales gimmic. Here is by the way what can be found on their web pages:

This got to be good! I guess it must be better then Goretex, Finetex and all the other fancy and highly expensive TEX solutions out there. And by the way, as you buy these bags for life, don’t forget to marry it.
