Canonical and O’Reilly have teamed up to hold the first Ubuntu Live conference. Ubuntu Live is being launched to provide a meeting place for Ubuntu users, contributors, and partners–and the Ubuntu-curious. It will be held July 22-24, Portland, Oregon. Reminds me of BeGeistert, but must be a 100 times bigger. A petty that something similar isn’t announced here in Europe. I would have joined it.

And there is many users taking part in the Ubuntu community. In total the Ubuntu Forums have registered about 230.000 users, and on Saturday 27, 2007, the forums reached a new high of 8,672 active users on at one time.

I am impressed how much Canonical and the Ubuntu community have achieved in such a short time.
