Finally the OpenMoko phone is released, even though it is based on GTK and not Qtopia. It will be my next phone, and I am sure that it will play nicely along with the linux distros I use on the desktop. Also friends of me are drewling over this phone. It is simply amazing !!! What I have seen of Access Linux Platform so far, simply disappoints me and I am not sure that this will be the turning point for PalmSource/Access. I hope to be able to get my hands on one of them! Still in an early stage of development, but hopefully ready for Feisty Fawn. Yesterday Migration-assistant 0.3.1 was uploaded to main and the accompanying changes were merged into Ubiquity. It can be run using the –migration-assistant option in Ubiquity. This is a functionality that has been lacking for Linux distros and other operating systems for years. I simply love the Maemo interface, but have sadly found the Nokia devices to be to expensive for now. The good news is that the interface is now heading for the desktop! Well, normally PDA interfaces are not the best ones for the desktop, and you can imagine why… .
