Social matters more and more, and that is why Amazon bought Goodreads, a recommendation service with social sharing capabilities. I just got to borrow a Kindle Paperwhite from a colleague. Did the best ereader get better? Oh yes, it really did! Google Chrome extension: Send to Kindle

I’m a great fan of Instapaper, but I guess I want to try this service out. Amazon yesterday released a Chrome browser plug-in that will reformat and send web content directly to Kindle apps and devices. I’m already using their similar apps for Mac and PC for delivering content to Kindles. Amazon will re-format web pages and remove “the distractions” from any given page, and you can also just send specific, highlighted text. The big news yesterday was that Amazon acquired Lexcycle, a market leading company when it comes to the open ebook format ePub. I love Lexcycles Stanza applications for Windows and Macs, that can convert documents to more or less any ebook format and read the very same formats.  I am also a frequent user of Stanza for iPhone, one of the most downloaded applications for that platform.
