Using DYMO LabelManager

One of my tasks at work is installing Macs, and till now I have labeled the Macs with their hostnames on a Windows machine. But not any more, yesterday I got a small present from my “boss”. A DYMO LabelManager and it has OS X support. I had no problem setting up at as a printer and the small text editor app mounted as a USB pen and I only had to drag it over to the Applications folder. Elgato Thunderbolt SSD SpeedGraphics

I never thought of Elgato as a supplier of storage devices, but recently they started producing inexpensive Thunderbolt SSD devices and not only advanced TV and video solutions for the Mac. 1Password - Vault

I have a problem, and that is to keep all my personal and work related passwords handy and at the same time safe. Linux has long had repositories, which in principle is the same as Apple’s App Store. First of all, this is the first time installation for applications has become problem free on a Mac. There is […] Continue reading →

Unboxing a MacBook Pro

One of my scientific staff ordered herself a MacBook Pro 10 days ago and it arrived yesterday. The machine is stunningly beautiful. It’s to the point where I almost want to replace my 2 year old MacBook Pro. From unboxing it to getting it on net took about two minutes. I guess it is not possible to get first boot more optimized! When on net, the first thing I do is always to run Mac Update. 12 updates were waiting for me. Don’t want to make a point out of it, but I am one of the […] Continue reading →
