Lots of photo taken
0On Thursday I came back to Norway after having been two weeks in Mindszent, Hungary. Two weeks with beautiful spring and temperatures as high as 26-27 degrees most of the time. It was also two weeks spent with family and friends.
Lots of photos were taken, and they are now all available on my Flickr account as two photo sets: Julia and Mindszent 2009. As you can see from this blog entry, I spent some time on getting to know my SLR camera and Lightroom.
Home in Oslo I yesterday visited Fotovideo, and had a look at Nikon 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G IF-ED AF-S VR lense. I want to be able to do shots from distance, especially of animals and flowers. I saw lots of animals in Mindszent this time, animals like deer, lots of rabbits and pheasants, some falcons or eagles, a few white storks and great white egrets. And I could hear a woodpecker from time to time. But with 18-55mm I could simply not get close enough.
The lense got tested, and “flower” was shot with the full use of the lense. It was about 7-8 meters away:
So the lense is something I will try to buy when I finished renewing my appartment. What I ended up buying yesterday was a tripod for my camera. I ended up with Benro A-157, and then went up to Akerselva and did photos of the wild river (snow is melting up in the mountains around Oslo):
Walking home from work
1Today I woke up to it snowing again, and we ended up with another 10 cm with snow. Luckily I brought my camera with me to work, so I quitted early and walked home. From Blindern to Sagene, and then a long Akerselva (the river) to Grünerløkka, and then through the Botanic Garden at Tøyen:
About two weeks ago I bought myself a new camera, a Nikon D60, and these pictures are some of the first pictures that I take outside with it.
The waterfall at Mølla, Grünerløkka is the perfect place to try shutter times. I wish I had brought a tripod with me too!
The spectacular waterfall located next to the small, red house “Hønse-Lovisas hus” and the Beier bridge.
I guess your question is like mine: How on earth did you manage …? I found the car like this on a street corner quite high up in Markveien.
This last photo was taken up in Tøyen Botanic Garden, outside the Manor house. Normally the Botanical Garden is a green oasis, but today it was covered in snow:
I can’t wait for the spring to arrive.
A few pictures from Oslo this evening
1Today we had a heavy snowfall here in Oslo, and it is still snowing. I guess I should bring the camera with me and try to do some nice pictures. I had a quick walk around at Tøyen, Kampen and Galgeberg tonight.
The Last Bike Trip Of The Year!
0I guess I today did the last bigger bike ride of the year, and it was one of the longest ones as well! The trip went from Tøyen – Torshov – Nydalen – Maridalen (Hammeren) – Skjærsjøen – Bjørnhalt – Kikutstua – Sørkedalen Skole – Bogstad – Majorstua – Tøyen.
I am not entirely sure how long the total of the trip is, but as I biked a bit on another route as well before returning to the route again, I guess the trip was about 50 kms. The part Nydalen – Bogstad was a bit icey, so winter seems to be coming, so perhaps from now on I will be doing some skating instead.
A Sunday Walk
0Today I had a walk to Bogstad and then up to Marka (the forrest surrounding Oslo). I brought the new camera that I recently bought for the department where I work. I am mighty impressed of the quality of the pictures.
